Field types #
Every data type Pizza supports, grouped by family:
- Full-text types —
text, keyword - Numeric and boolean types — eight integer widths,
float,double,boolean - Date and geo types —
date,geo_point - Vector types —
semantic_text(ES-style, server-side embedding),dense_vector,sparse_vector - Object and nested types —
object,nested - Relation type —
relation
Each family page lists the parameters its types accept. The parameter semantics live in the field parameters catalog, grouped by category (analysis, indexing, storage, realtime and in-place, structural, type-specific).
Multiple values #
| Family | Multiple values |
|---|---|
text, keyword | Yes |
Numeric types, boolean | Yes |
date | Yes |
geo_point | Yes — a field may hold multiple points |
semantic_text, dense_vector, sparse_vector | No — one vector per field |
object, nested | Yes — nested takes an array of inner objects |
relation | Yes — a document may carry multiple edges |
Arrays #
Pizza has no dedicated array data type. Any field can contain zero or more values by default, if:
- They have the same type.
- The field type supports indexing multiple values (see the table above).
